Team Police Brutality is going to race in New England next weekend! The 24 Hours of LeMons staff has graciously accepted us at the last second, despite a long waiting list of teams still trying to get in to the overbooked, sold-out race. They expressed great appreciation for our recent efforts, and helped us out tremendously in return! Now, I've gotta decide between competing for the overall win with the Lincoln, running the Tbird with a different motor, or running the mystery car, one that Jay Lamm called "one of the worst cars ever built!"
The Lincoln needs the rear diff rebuilt or the gears swapped, the shifter relocated, the clutch cable and trans code eliminator chip replaced, and a total re-theme. The Tbird just needs a motor/trans swap, and maybe a repaint in a different color. I have a fuel-injected 5.0 and a carbed 5.0 I could use, but that's pretty mundane by our standards. I'm looking for something more exotic/rare, but no luck yet. Mystery car needs floor pans, a cage, a tuneup, carb rebuild, brakes/rotors, and a million other things, but I think it would be an IOE ringer if it stayed running. I've got a whole week, that's plenty of time to get it almost built, as we've proven twice before. Hmm. Decisions, decisions...
